These mats are very sturdy and work well for a home gym. They have a gritty texture, so they're great for stability while lifting weights. However, you'll likely want another mat with a smoother surface for when you do stretches or exercises on the floor. My only complaint is that I ordered two 4' x 8' mats, but they're not cut to the correct sizes. One mat is 91" while the other is 101.5" long. (They should both be 96" long to be 8'.) Basically, one mat is 5" too short while the other one is about 5" too long. They are noticeably different, which makes it awkward to arrange my gym equipment on. (The widths are correct though.)
